Change of Address

It has been a while since I was able to post anything on the blog, but with good reason. About 99% of our friends and family are aware that we relocated to Japan, for those that didn't but happen upon this post, congrats you are now apart of the In Crowd! Doesn't it feel good?

Before proceeding I have to give a shutout to my family since I would not be able to follow my dream without their support, encouragement, and love. They are the true RockStars, I'm just the back up singer who book the show. Thank You Perla and Sara!

We have been in Tokyo for almost 2 months now and it still feels like we just arrived. Just about everyday we are trying to navigate through different cities, translating documents from Sara's school, read maps, and make sure we don't get on the wrong trains. One funny recurrence is that we are always finding shortcuts to and from our apartment via the different train line. A recent shortcut, by switching train lines, saved us about 45-60 minutes of out of the way traveling. Which was a blessing since we were coming back from Ikea with heavy bags. Additionally we are learning about the culture, trying new foods, and trying as many new experiences as we can. Everyday is an adventure. Here are a few images from around town. There are plenty more to come.

Ja mata, Brian I should really start a news letter for this new round of post. Leave a comment and let me know what you think?

D189 - Splash back

Ok, so I have a fun idea for a series of self portraits, but to pull them off I will have to enlist the help of some volunteers who would don't mind throwing a drink in my face. Well not the glass, sorry to get some of your hopes up. I may have a few of the 'volunteers' pose for a couple as well. Should be able to get a few in on Sunday. Tonight's shot is just me 'testing the waters'. Note to self, use warm water next time.

Enjoy

Too much water here

D142 - Drink Up

This will probably be the last running/race related post (for a little bit anyway). Since the race, I have been drinking water like a fish and sleeping a little longer than usual. This will of course become routine as I will try to condition myself  to be faster for the remaining 5ks planned for this summer. The good thing is all the options for increasing my water intake available between work and home, hydration should not be a problem.

Enjoy.

D91 - When light fails

Busy day today, but I was determined not to shoot indoors. Once home the light was fading fast, faster than your saving while sitting in a Casino in Vegas. So when light fails you, shoot a long exposure, as long as its not completely dark outside. This was a 15 second expose at f8.0 with a 'watch Brian run from geese sneaking up behind him in attack mode." Honestly , I don't know how I get so lucky to be in these situations.

Enjoy.

D86 - Making a Splash

While I do some more research on Astrophotography, I decided to grab an image at the beach today. The capture may look like a warn sunny day, but it was quite cold outside. Today was definitely a choppy on the lake, which means I couldn't walk out far on the rock without getting wet. I will have to see if there are other locations that I can explore for tomorrows capture.

Enjoy.

D40 - Reflections

In calm waters reflections are still, sharp, and unshaken. But when the surface you are reflecting on is disturbed, the reflection is just as unsteady. So how does this play on what you reflect upon? Trying to force the stillness makes as much sense as trying to calm choppy with your hands. You could easily be patient allowing the serene to come naturally. Likewise, taking the time to comprehend the source of the ripples will give you a better understanding of how cope with them. In short, relax and stay focus for clearer reflections.

Happiness.
