D202 - Long Look

Technically on assignment today. We have a photography forum group at the job and they are having assignments with this weeks theme: at the park. Of course by the time I get home there isn't much light left, so we do long exposures. With the movement of the clouds and the moon (think the camera might have shifted a little for most of that trail) a long explosure can end up looking very dramatic. Off to run.

Enjoy.

D96 - Return of the moon

Tonight, I was out looking to capture some images of the stars, but quickly learned that you cannot do this when the moon is shining bright. It doesn't matter where you go, dark fields, out of the way parking lots, or even in a dark field near a non-lit parking lot holding your coat up to block some of the light. All of this is for not if you do not have the right shooting equipment for stars, depending on what your are shooting of course. So when the moon is too bright, shoot it, and then share it.

Enjoy.

D85 - Star Search

The moon looked amazing tonight, especially with Jupiter so close in relative position. Venus was also pretty close, but not close to capture in the image below. Looking at a star map it looks like the moon and both planets were closer earlier in the night. I will have to keep my eye on the sky for more opportunities of capturing stars.

Enjoy.

D9 - Moon Light

There was a beautiful moon out tonight, so I broke out the 300mm on the cropped body to capture a few closeups.

Enjoy.
